Eco-Restoration and Wildlife Rehab Centre is an organisation with a mandate to re-afforest and regenerate degraded ecosystems using endangered and vulnerable species and state of the art agroforestry and eco-agricultural practices
We educate, engage and stimulate the society/ general public on our overall mandate of restoring degraded ecosystems, rehabilitating wildlife and uplifting the livelihood systems of forest dependent poor, particularly the disadvantaged and vulnerable groups; disseminate information on the activities of sister local and global environmental and multilateral organizations and world bodies.


Our Centre is a pioneering Non-Profit, Non-Governmental Organization established on January 17, 2022 (RC: 171783).
Our clientele cuts across International / Multilateral Organizations; National, Regional, State and Local Governments and Agencies; Corporate, Philanthropic, Non-Governmental & Community Based Organizations, Communities and Individuals.
Its primary mandates are to rehabilitate endangered and vulnerable species; restore degraded fragile forest ecosystems and nutrient deficient agricultural landscapes.

Our Board
Prof. Ekeoba Matthew ISIKHUEMEN is a Professor of Forest Conservation & Rehabilitation Ecology. He holds a Doctorate degree in Forest Conservation & Ecology from Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta, Nigeria; Master’s Degree in Business Administration (MBA), MSc. (Environmental Conservation), Bachelor’s Degree in Agriculture (Forestry and Wildlife) from the University of Benin, Benin City, Nigeria.
He is a consummate administrator and manager of both human and environmental resources, and has over forty years of work and cognate experience in the civil service/society, private sector and academia. His specialty/areas of interest traverse forest and allied resources conservation, ethno-medicine, restoration of degraded forest / savanna / fringing & river catchment ecosystem, rehabilitation of wildlife, etc.
A Visiting Scholar at the United Nations University – Institute for Natural Resources for Africa (INRA), Ghana (August – December, 2012), Prof. E. M. Isikhuemen is an Ambassador of UNU-INRA. He is an ardent consultant in the diverse fields of forestry – inventory; plantation establishment / management; restoration / rehabilitation of forests in marginal / fragile and degraded forest and agricultural landscapes; establishment of ethnomedicinal gardens and grooves; erosion control and management; establishment, implementation, and monitoring & evaluation of forestry and agroforestry projects.
He joined Bendel State Forestry Service as Assistant Forest Superintendent-in-Training in 1979 and rose through the ranks to the position of Assistant Chief Forest Officer before transferring to University of Benin, Benin City as Lecturer I in 2011. Through consultative meetings held between 2019 and 2021, he facilitated the establishment of a one-hectare collaborative project for the development of Thaumatococcus danielii (Sweet Prayers Plant) by Nigerian Raw Material Research and Development Council (RMRDC), Abuja and University of Benin, Benin City (UNIBEN) at the university main campus in 2021.
An accomplished Forest Conservation Ecologist with unfettered passion for the rehabilitation of biodiversity and restoration of degraded ecosystems, Prof. E. M. Isikhuemen established Nigeria’s first private-owned forest restoration project at Udakpa, Ubiaja in Esan South East Local Government Area, Edo State, Nigeria in 2019. The project’s primary objectives include, but not limited to: (a) rehabilitation of endangered and vulnerable taxa on IUCN Red list; (b) restoration of degraded forest /agricultural landscape; and (c) enhancement of the livelihood systems of biomass dependent poor and vulnerable in communities.
Prof. E. M. Isikhuemen has participated in several world/international/local congresses/conferences and workshops, and has over 45 peer reviewed publications in Journals/Conference proceedings and Technical reports.
Mr. Lucky Abumere Igberaese is an accomplished Chief Executive with core competencies that straddle Human, Financial and Environmental Resources Management. Through commitment and hard work, he received extensive training in policy development and strategic management from diverse in-service training and refresher courses both locally and internationally. These have broadened his knowledge of management as well as proficiency in staff and customer relations as well as service delivery.
Mr. L. A. Igberaese has several years of work and cognate experience gathered in companies/organizations where he worked in different capacities. He is currently the Managing Director, Agua Global Services Ltd – a support service providing Organization. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and he is married with children.
Dr. Felix O. Idumah is a Professor of Agricultural Economics. He holds Bachelor of Science degree (Economics), Masters, and Doctorate degrees (Agricultural Economics with specialization in Environmental and Resource Economics) from University of Ibadan, Nigeria. He also attended Federal College of Forestry, Jos and Federal College of Forestry, Ibadan where he obtained Ordinary and Higher Diploma in Forestry in 1981 and 1985 respectively. His career in forestry started in 1979 when he was employed as Forest-Assistant-in-Training in Forestry and by dint of hard work and dedication, he rose from the ranks to the position of a Research Professor. His experience both as a technical and research scientist in Forest Research Institute of Nigeria (FRIN) spans over 40 years. His areas of research interest include: community livelihood enhancement, poverty alleviation, natural resources conservation, environmental sustainability, etc.
He has to his credit several years of experience in Silviculture (nursery operations, plantation establishment and maintenance), Agroforestry, Ecology, Wood processing & Utilization as well as marketing, Forest Economics, Extension and Administration. He was head of FRIN Outstation for over 8 years; and Head of Department of Forest Economics and Extension for over 6 years. He served as the General Manager of Industrial Development Unit (IDU),...
Prof. (Mrs.) Joke Margaret KOYENIKAN is an Agricultural Extension, Rural Development and Gender in Development Specialist. She holds a doctorate degree in Agricultural Extension from the University of Benin, Benin City, Nigeria as well as M.Sc. and B.Sc. (Hons) in Agricultural Extension Services from the University of Ibadan, Nigeria. Her professional working experience started during the one-year National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) at the Directorate of Food, Roads and Rural Infrastructure (DFFRI). She rose through the ranks from Agricultural Officer II to Principal Agric. Officer/Regional Coordinator Extension/Coordinator-Women-In-Agriculture (WIA) at the Projects Coordinating Unit (PCU) of the Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (FMARD) Regional Office, Benin- City from 1990 to 2009 where she was involved in various programme implementation, reviews, supervision, training-of-trainers, back stopping, etc. She also facilitated participatory community planning/participatory rural appraisal exercises.
She joined the University of Benin, Benin City in 2009; and presently an Associate Professor in the Department of Agricultural Economics & Extension Services. She has been involved in teaching, administration, community services/outreaches and mentoring students. She has supervised several undergraduate, M.Sc and PhD candidates. She has to her credit over 50 articles published in peer reviewed journals. She is a member of many professional organizations/bodies, namely, Agricultural Extension Society of Nigeria (AESON); Rural Sociological Association of Nigeria (RUSAN), Organization for Women in Science for Developing World (OWSD), Nigerian Forum for Agricultural Advisory Services (NIFAAS) (by extension AFAAS and GFRAS) and Agriculture, Nutrition and Health Academy. She has attended and presented papers in several local and international conferences and workshops. Her hobbies include singing and meeting people.
Dr. Joseph Sunday OGEH is a Professor of Soil Fertility and Land Management. He holds a doctorate as well as Master of Science degrees in Agronomy (Soil Science) from the University of Ibadan, Ibadan, Nigeria, and Bachelor of Science degree in Forestry from the University of Sokoto (currently Usman Dan Fodio University), Sokoto, Nigeria
He has over 40 years’ experience spanning diverse areas of Agriculture, including Agronomy (Soil Science) and Forestry. His recent research activities include: soil health assessment and management; conservation and tillage in cropping systems; forest ecosystem, soil organic carbon content/stock in forest and plantation crops. Others are extension to support sustainable and profitable production of agronomic crops, tree crops and forest; tillage management, soil and nutrient losses, fertilizer management, land use effect on soil properties and soil variability studies; management of greenhouse and field fertilizer trials in different agro- ecological zones in Nigeria. He is also a consultant to several Agro-allied Organizations - Soil Sampling, analysis and interpretation, Oil Palm seedlings production, Establishment of Rice farms, etc. He has also served as team-lead to establish agro-forestry farms and farmers’ fields, arable and permanent/plantation/production crops in most agro-ecological zones in Nigeria.
He is a member of several international, national and local organizations, including: Soil Science Society of America (SSSA) – 2012 to date, International Union of Soil Science (IUSS) from 2000 to date, Indonesian Society of Soil Science (ISSS) from 2012 to 2015, African Soil Science Society (ASSS) from 2007 to 2010, Soil Science Society of Nigeria (SSSN) – 1991 to date), World Association of Soil and Water conservation (WASWC) from 2005 to 2010, Institute of Management Consultants of Nigeria (IMCON) from 2007 to date, etc.
